What can hot yoga do?

Used for thousands of years to lower blood pressure and reduce stress, yoga has many benefits for your entire body.

The many yoga poses stretch the major blood vessels, keeping them free-flowing and elastic, whilst oxygen-rich blood is pushed through your entire circulatory system, revitalising and energising all the vital organs with fresh nutrients. Plus, by deepening your breathing, releasing anxiety and tension, and promoting relaxation of the mind, stress levels are significantly reduced and your heart rate is lowered.

Bali-Hot Bikram YogaFX Canggu is also a fabulous weight loss tool, by improving physical strength, flexibility and endurance, challenging the cardiovascular system and building muscle.  And the added impact of exercising in the heat flushes out toxins through sweat, whilst you replenish the body with plenty of fresh water throughout the session, leaves your entire circulatory and vital organs rejuvenated and revitalised.

A RECENT STUDY IN BRAZIL assessing yoga’s influence on patients with arterial hypertension, found yoga promoted significant cardiovascular and metabolic effects. From the 33 volunteers that took part, 17 did yoga for four months and their blood pressure measurements, cardiac and respiratory rate were collected. The yoga group showed a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure, heart and respiratory rate. The study concluded that, “The yoga exercises performed in the proposed sequence constitute complementary non-pharmacological control of blood pressure in patients with hypertension.”

Another scientific study undertaken in India looking at the potential beneficial effect of yoga on hypertension concluded “yoga has been found to decrease blood pressure as well as the levels of oxidative stress in patients with hypertension.”
